Fashion Designer Based in Toronto, Canada
After training from the Fashion program at George Brown College in 2013, Joao Paulo graduated at the top of his class. The program focused solely on womenswear, however, Joao Paulo adapted the lessons into men’s styles with ease. Joao Paulo further developed his skills as a menswear designer in cooperation with the Indian clothing company Shantanu & Nikhil, working for them in both New Delhi and Toronto. In 2013, Joao Paulo created his first all menswear capsule collection in Toronto to great review and optimism having outfits featured on the Much Music Video Awards red carpet. He also interned under Dennis Merrotto fostering a deeper understanding of fashion in Toronto and garment creation.
Since March 2014, he has been working full time at Canada Goose, learning more about the business of the fashion world while still working on what he loves: his own menswear collection. Joao Paulo Guedes is poised to show his unique fashion aesthetic to the world.
